I want to put my experience to work for Northern Virginia Republicans. I believe the number one priority of the Republican Party is to elect Republican candidates. In order to ensure the RPV is successful in this priority, I will work for some key goals:
First, we must ensure Northern Virginia is an integral part of our statewide strategy. If we do not make inroads here soon, we will not be able to stem the tide. This includes investing in special election races that we have a real opportunity to win here in Northern Virginia.
Second, I want to ensure the basics are covered, so that grassroots organizing is given just as much attention as fundraising and messaging. This includes setting goals for unit chairman and providing the tools necessary to run an effective ground game.
Third, I want to make sure the RPV and its candidates are offering Republican solutions to the problems facing our state and communities – making us the party of ideas again. We should create a virtual think tank and create a platform of issues that will appeal to Virginians.
Fourth, I want to be sure we are investing in the use of technology to advance are objectives. This includes things like micro-targeting, blogging, viral video and other web 2.0 tools.
In short, we should build a Republican network of people, ideas and technology that will provide a solid foundation for any candidate who is willing to run. And, we should have a tool-kit and training opportunities for these candidates at every level. This will help us keep an ongoing pool of talent ready to step up and run for higher office.
